Vancouver Whitecaps
Los Angeles Galaxy will be aiming to extend their winning run in the MLS to three games when they face Vancouver Whitecaps at Dignity Health Sports Park on Monday morning. LA Galaxy quickly bounced back from a heavy 4-0 loss to Dallas, with the team climbing to third position in the standings. Key attacker Javier Hernandez Chicharito missed the last league match through injury, but the former Man Utd ace should recover in time to face Vancouver.
The Canadians, on the other hand, are stuck at the bottom of the standings, with the team collecting only 15 points from possible 48. The rock-bottom side aim to give fans something to cheer about, but given LA Galaxy’s fine home record, we predict that the visitors will return to Canada empty-handed. Both Lucas Cavallini and Maxime Crepeau returned from international duty.

While playing at a youth tournament in France, Jonathan Dos Santos was spotted by FC Barcelona scouts, who were delighted with what they saw. The Barca chiefs decided to bring Jonathan and his brother Giovani to La Masia, with both passing the trial.
The Mexican midfielder, who was born in Monterrey on April 26, 1990, scored 6 goals in 81 appearances for Barcelona B from 2009 to 2012, but he played no more than 14 games for the senior team in the Spanish top flight. On July 9, 2014 Jonathan dos Santos moved to Villareal and he scored his first La Liga goal in December against Deportivo La Coruna.
The Mexico international played an important role at Villarreal until 2017 when he decided to sign a contract with MLS club Los Angeles Galaxy. The biggest success of his career, though, is winning the UEFA Champions League title in the 2010/2011 season with Barca. Unlike his brother, Jonathan’s preferred foot is right.

Vancouver Whitecaps are yet another Canadian side that compete in Major League Soccer. Vancouver began play in the USA top flight in 2011 and one year later they became the first Canadian outfit to book their place in the MLS Cup play-offs. However, star-studded Los Angeles Galaxy proved to be a big catch for the Whitecaps in the knockout round. Vancouver, though, did remarkably well to win the Canadian Championship in 2015, with the team beating Montreal Impact in the title game.
In 2016 they made it to the final of the tournament as well, but Toronto FC eventually won the trophy.
