Our prediction for this MLS match:
Nashville and Cincinnati, the two teams who have recently been added to the Major League Soccer, go head to head at Nissan Stadium in what is expected to be a lively contest. Nashville have been producing excellent displays at home ground this season, and it is no wonder the bookies see them as favourites to win Sunday’s clash. All Alistair Johnston, Anibal Godoy, and Walker Zimmerman represent their respective national teams at the 2021 Gold Cup, while both Godoy and Badji are sidelined with injuries.
Cincinnati, on the other hand, give their best to be competitive at this level, but given their four-game winless run in the MLS, we are tempted to put our money on the home team. Both Allan Cruz and Ronald Matarrita are on international duty with Costa Rica, whilst all Bailey, Harris, and van der Werff remain sidelined through injuries.
Highlighted Player (Anibal Godoy):
Anibal Godoy is a professional footballer who plays for Panama national football team. The powerful midfielder was born on February 10, 1990 and he has been playing for los Ticos since March 4, 2010 when he made his debut for the national team.
Anibal Godoy played full 90 minutes in the 2-1 win over Venezuela and he scored his first goal for Panama four years late in a 3-1 victory over El Salvador. Speaking of his club career, Godoy played for Chepo of Panama from 2007 to 2010 and he moved to Europe in the summer of 2013, signing a deal with Hungarian outfit Honved.
After playing 24 league games (one goal) for Honved, Godoy signed for Major League Soccer club San Jose Earthquakes in August 2015. Anibal Godoy is a defensive midfielder and his preferred foot is left. His contract with San Jose should expire in December, 2017 and it has to be noted that he began his youth career Arsenal de Sarandi of Argentina.
Highlighted Team (FC Cincinnati):
FC Cincinnati will make their MLS debut in the 2019 season. Based in Ohio, the Orange and Blue are a team who is expected to play their home games at West End Stadium. However, seeing that the West End Stadium is still under construction, FC Cincinnati will welcome their rivals at Nippert Stadium at the start of the season.
The team’s home colors are orange and blue, whilst they wear white shirts and white shorts when playing on the travels. Justin Hoyte, who used to play for the likes of Arsenal and Middlesbrough in the Premier League is considered one of the team’s most famous footballers.
The Orange and Blue will make their MLS debut against Seattle Sounders, whilst they will play their first ever home game in the league against Portland Timbers. It has to be noted that FC Cincinnati has five supporters groups: Die Innestadt, The Legion, The Pride, Queen City and The Briogaid.
