Our prediction for this Premier League match:
After surviving Cheltenham in the FA Cup last 32, Manchester City will be looking to overtake Manchester United in top position in the Premier League table when they take on WBA on Tuesday evening. The Citizens were struggling to find their best form at the start of the season, but they have been producing fine displays in 2021. Pep Guardiola’s troops are eyeing their seventh consecutive win in the national championship, and the Catalan tactician is likely to field the best possible side this time out after resting key players in the FA Cup clash.
Kun Aguero remains quarantined, while Kevin de Bruyne is sidelined with injury. The Baggies did well to beat Wolverhampton on the road in their penultimate league fixture, but they failed to spoil West Ham’s party in London. Given WBA’s shaky defence, we are tempted to put our money on the title-chasing visitors. Karlan Grant remains on the sidelines with injury, while Conor Townsend is a major doubt.
Highlighted Player (Branislav Ivanovic):
Over the years Branislav Ivanovic has established himself as one of the best defenders in the world football. Bane plays as a centre back, but he is capable of playing as a full back as well. The Serbian defender has been playing for Chelsea since 2008 and he used to play for the likes of Srem, OFK Beograd and Lokomotiv Moscow in the past as well.
Ivanovic leaves his heart on the field in every single match and that is the main reason why the fans love him. He is known for his aerial ability as well and it has to be noted that he has scored 22 goals for Chelsea since arriving to Stamford Bridge in 2008.
The Serbian footballer has won two Premier League trophies with the Blues, but the Champions League trophy won in 2012 is considered the biggest success of his career. Branislav is married to Natasa, who gave birth to his four children.
Highlighted Team (Man City):
Manchester City are the lest famous of the two major clubs based in Manchester. The club was founded in 1880, but they have been struggling in the English Premier League in the past. Nonetheless, ever since the club was purchased by Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008, the Citizens have been playing an important role in the English top flight.
Manchester City won two Premier League trophies under Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini (2011/2012 and 2013/2014), but both managers eventually paid the price for some disappointing results. Man City play their home games at the Etihad Stadium and the stadium capacity is 55,097.
Manchester United are regarded as Manchester City’s biggest rivals and the likes of Kun Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Uwe Rosler, Yaya Toure, Sylvain Distin are some of the most remarkable players that played for the Etihad Stadium outfit. Manchester City have won four Premier League titles and five FA Cup trophies and it has to be noted that they made it to the Champions League semis in the 2015/2016 season.
