Our prediction for this Serie A match:
After holding Milan to a 3-3 draw at Stadio San Siro, Genoa will be aiming to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they face Sassuolo on Matchday 36. The Rossoblu have little to play for in the season finale, but they obviously want to finish the 2023/2024 campaign in great manner. All Mattia Bani, Junior Messias, and Ruslan Malinovskyi are out of contention with injuries, while experienced midfielder Kevin Strootman is pushing for a start.
The Neroverdi, on the other hand, desperately needed a win against newly-promoted champions Inter and they managed to get one. Sassuolo face yet another must-win situation against Genoa and seeing that the hosts head into Sunday’s clash with the lack of motivation, away win should be considered. The good news for the visiting is that Ruan Tressoldi is back from suspension, while all Gregoire Defrel, Samu Castillejo, and Domenico Berardi are sidelined with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Kevin Strootman):
After starting his senior career at Sparta Rotterdam, Kevin Strootman joined fellow Dutch side Utrecht in 2011. On March 9, 2014, the Dutch footballer sustained a serious knee injury that made him miss the remainder of the 2013/2014 Serie A season. He missed the 2014 FIFA World Cup as well, but he returned to contention on November 9, 2014. Kevin Strootman played for Roma until August 28 when he signed a five-year contract with Olympique Marseille.
Speaking of his international career, Strootman made his Netherlands debut against Austria in 2011 and he scored his first ever goal for the Dutch national team in Euro 2012 qualifier against Finland. Kevin Strootman’s preferred foot is right.
