Our prediction for this Serie B match:
Saturday’s football game at Stadio Pier Cesare Tombolato pits together Cittadella and Brescia, the two teams who are level on points in the Serie B standings. La Citta aim to make amends for back-to-back defeats to Pisa and Cremonese and we are positive that they will adopt an attack-minded approach against Brescia. Andrea Cecchetto remains on the sidelines, while fellow midfielder Edoardo Sottini is a major doubt and he will be assessed ahead of the kick-off.
Le Rondinelle, on the other hand, were beaten by Modena and Bari in the previous two league matches. As the visitors will go for a win in Saturday’s clash as well, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score. There are no fresh injury worries in the visiting team ahead of the trip to Cittadella, but midfielder Tommie Van de Looi should sneak into the starting XI.
Highlighted Team (Brescia):
Hosting their rivals at Stadio Mario Rigamonti, the stadium with the capacity of 16,743, Brescia are Italian team founded back in 1911 under the name of Brescia Football Club. Le Rondinelle are well known for their blue and white shirts, but white is dominant colour in their away kit.
Atalanta are considered one of the club’s fiercest rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the Derby of Lombardy. The Stadio Mario Rigamonti outfit have rivalries with the likes of Inter, Hellas Verona and Cremonese as well. Roberto Baggio, who has 56 caps with the Italy national football team, is considered the most famous footballer who played for Brescia.
Robi scored 45 goals in 95 appearances in the Serie A for le Rondinelle. It has to be noted that the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Gheorge Hagi, Pep Guardiola, Luca Toni, Luigi Di Biagio and Dario Hubner were part of Brescia in the past as well. However, Mario Rigamonti is the club’s biggest legend as he died in the Superga air disaster back in 1949.
